A slum is defined as an area unfit for human habitation because of dilapidated buildings, overcrowding, faulty arrangement and design of buildings, narrowness or faulty arrangement of streets, lack of ventilation, light or sanitation facilities or any other combination of these factors, as per the Slum Areas Improvement and Clearance Act 1956. A slum is defined by World Bank as a group of individuals living under the same roof, lacking one or more of the basic necessities. Resettlement of urban poor from slums to affordable good quality housing through various schemes is one of the important measures taken by the Government to mitigate urban poverty and improve their livelihood and earning potential. Sustainable Development Goal 11, inter alia, aims to, "By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade urban poor habitations". There are over 1.7 lakh storied tenements constructed in Tamil Nadu for resettlement of urban poor. This study aims at taking a look at the factors that affect the quality of life of the resettled urban poor, including access to public transport, awareness of Government schemes, access to sports facilities, placement opportunities and having shops within tenements. A convenience sample of 108 residents of a storied tenement in Chennai were randomly selected as the sample for study and descriptive research design was used to gather primary data for analysis. Percentage analysis, mean scores and anova were used to analyse the results and arrive at conclusions about what factors were perceived as the most impactful for their overall socioeconomic wellbeing - encompassing their quality of life, livelihood and earning potential of resettled urban poor.

As India strides towards becoming a global economic powerhouse, the significance of robust dispute resolution mechanisms cannot be overstated. Arbitration and mediation have emerged as indispensable tools for dispute resolution in the modern era, offering parties a flexible, efficient, and confidential alternative to traditional litigation. In recent years, India has made significant strides in establishing itself as a key player in the global arbitration and mediation landscape. However, to truly elevate India as a hub for these practices, there is a pressing need to chart a course for the future that encompasses both domestic reforms and international engagement. This abstract explores the trajectory of arbitration and mediation in India, examining the challenges, opportunities, and strategies for advancement. It delves into the legal reforms undertaken by India to create a conducive environment for ADR, such as amendments to arbitration laws and the introduction of specialized mediation legislation. It also highlights the burgeoning infrastructure supporting ADR, including the establishment of state-of-the-art arbitration centres and mediation facilities. The importance of investing in training and education to enhance the skills and expertise of arbitrators, mediators, and legal professionals in India. It underscores the role of international collaboration and recognition in elevating India's status as an ADR hub, showcasing successful partnerships with global ADR organizations and efforts to align Indian practices with international standards. It explores innovative approaches to ADR, such as the integration of technology and online dispute resolution platforms, to improve accessibility, efficiency, and transparency. This paper also examines the cultural shift towards embracing ADR as a preferred method for resolving disputes in India and highlighting awareness campaigns.

Feminine psyche constitutes a major part of Anita Desai's fictional material. Women writers of all ages have a natural preference for writing about women characters. Anita Desai is no exception in so far as she has written, by and large, about women characters; and no wonder, most of her novels move around women characters. By 'Psyche' Jung means: "Not only what we generally call 'soul' but the totality of all psychic processes, conscious as well as unconscious, hence something broader and more comprehensive than the soul". To understand 'Feminine', just as we cannot confuse female and feminist, we also cannot presume that anything and everything written by women, will be 'feminine'. To quote Toril Moi: "It has long been an established practice among most feminists to use 'Feminine' (and Masculine) to represent social constructs . . . and to reserve 'Female' and 'Male' for the purely biological aspects of sexual difference. Thus, 'feminine' represents nurture, and 'female' - nature in this usage . . . Seen in this perspective, patriarchal oppression consists of imposing certain social standards of femininity on all biological women in order precisely to make us believe that the chosen standards for 'femininity' are natural. Thus a woman who refuses to conform can be labelled both unfeminine and unnatural . . . Patriarchy, in other words, wants us to believe that there is such a thing as an essence of femaleness, called femininity. Feminists must therefore always insist that though women undoubtedly are female, this in no way guarantees that they will be feminine".

Traditional wedding dresses often present challenges for brides, including discomfort, restricted movement, and overall heaviness. These factors can negatively impact a bride's experience on her special day. To address these issues, this research focuses on designing and developing a novel wedding dress that prioritizes comfort, freedom of movement, and a sense of weightlessness. The objective of this research is to design and develop a novel wedding dress that provides brides with a sense of weightlessness, enhancing their comfort and overall bridal experience. A thorough understanding of bridal needs and preferences was gained through user interviews and surveys. This information was used to develop design criteria for the weightless dress. Various fabric combinations, construction techniques, and structural elements were explored through prototyping and testing. Advanced textile technologies were employed to enhance the fabric's weightlessness and durability. Specialized sewing and assembly techniques were developed to minimize seams and bulk, contributing to the overall sense of weightlessness. Structural elements like internal support systems were incorporated to maintain the dress's shape without adding significant weight.

This paper explores the impact of DevOps practices on the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). DevOps aims to bridge the gap between development and operations teams to deliver software faster, more reliably, and with higher quality. The study examines key practices such as continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated testing, along with their benefits and challenges in real-world implementations. The paper also evaluates the performance metrics used to measure the success of DevOps practices. The findings suggest that while DevOps leads to significant improvements in speed, quality, and collaboration, its adoption is hindered by cultural resistance, integration challenges, and skill gaps. Future work should focus on overcoming these barriers and further investigating the long-term impact of DevOps in various organizational contexts.

Diabetic foot ulcers are a significant complication of diabetes, necessitating effective treatment options. This study aimed to develop and optimize Glucophage-loaded liposomes for diabetic wound healing. A 32 full factorial design was employed to investigate the effects of cholesterol and phospholipon 90H on the responses, including percent yield, particle size, and polydispersity index (PDI). The optimized formulation was obtained using Design-Expert software, and the liposomes were characterized for their shape, surface morphology, entrapment efficiency, and in vitro drug release. The results showed that the optimized liposomes had a spherical shape, uniform size distribution, and high entrapment efficiency. The in vitro drug release study revealed a diffusion-controlled mechanism, with 90.53% of the drug released within 12 hours. The optimized Glucophage-loaded liposomes have the potential to provide a novel treatment option for diabetic wound healing.

In education, the importance of gathering and understanding student feedback cannot be over stated. Traditional methods of gathering feedback through surveys and assessments often suffer from limitations such as low response rates and subjectivity. This paper proposes a new approach to improve the feedback collection process by implementing a Student Feedback Mining System sing sentiment analysis. The goal of t is system is to automatically analyze and extract sentiment from student feedback and provide educators and institutes with valuable insights into students' overall satisfaction and feelings toward various aspects of their academic experience. The system uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to process unstructured text data, identify sentiments, and categorize feedback into positive, negative, or neutral feelings. Gathering student opinions using a variety of platforms, including discussion forums, online surveys, and other feedback systems. The gathered text data should be cleaned and preprocessed to eliminate noise and unnecessary information and standardize the format for analysis. Sentiment analysis methods and cutting-edge NLP algorithms are used to ascertain the emotional tone of feedback. This involves categorizing sentiment as neutral, negative, or positive. To give a thorough grasp of the different factors influencing student satisfaction, fees are grouped according to certain characteristics including course content, teaching strategies, facilities, and overall learning experience. Making it simple for administrators and teachers to understand and react to feedback by presenting studied data in reports and visuals that are easy to understand. Delivering feedback that makes it possible for ongoing development by offering actionable ideas to help teachers enhance their lesson plans, curricula, and overall learning environment. By automating the analysis process, offering real-time insights, and facilitating a data-driven approach to education improvement, the suggested solution seeks to overcome the limitations of traditional feedback collection approaches. By employing sentiment analysis, educational institutions and teachers can proactively address issues, enhance the standard of instruction, and establish a more upbeat and stimulating learning environment.
