 Abstract

Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by bradykinesia, rigidity, tremor, and postural instability, leading to impaired functional mobility and increased risk of falls. Turning difficulties are a major contributor to falls and reduced quality of life in affected individuals. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of specific exercises combined with a novel turning program in improving the quality of turning in daily life among individuals with Parkinson's disease.Ten participants aged 50-60 years, diagnosed with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (Hoehn and Yahr stages II-III), were recruited. The intervention was conducted over six weeks, with three sessions per week, each lasting 30-45 minutes. Outcome measures included the Falls Efficacy Scale-International (FES-I) and Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire-39 (PDQ-39), assessed before and after intervention.The treatment protocol consisted of balance training, strengthening, functional mobility exercises, and a novel turning program incorporating figure-of-eight walking, axial mobility exercises, obstacle negotiation, and dual-task activities. Results demonstrated consistent improvements in FES-I and PDQ-39 scores across all participants, indicating reduced fear of falling and enhanced quality of life. The study concludes that the combined intervention effectively improves turning ability and functional mobility in individuals with Parkinson's disease.

 Abstract

Cybersecurity threats have become increasingly sophisticated in the digital era, creating the need for intelligent and adaptive security systems. Traditional cyber defense systems often rely on static rules and manual supervision, which limits their ability to detect emerging threats effectively. To address these challenges, this project presents AegisOS, an AI-based multi-interface cyber defense system designed to detect malicious cyber activity using machine learning while providing multiple methods of user interaction. The proposed system uses the Random Forest Classifier trained on the NSL-KDD dataset to identify suspicious network behavior. It integrates a graphical user interface (GUI) for visual interaction, a voice assistant module for hands-free operation, and a web interface for remote access. These features improve usability, accessibility, and monitoring efficiency. AegisOS demonstrates how artificial intelligence and multi-interface accessibility can be combined to create an interactive cyber defense platform. The project serves as a prototype for future intelligent security systems that can provide adaptive threat detection with user-friendly operation.

 Abstract

The study titled "Psycho-Social Impact of Marital Conflict on Women's Mental Health" aims to examine the psychological and social challenges experienced by women facing marital conflict. Marriage is considered a fundamental social institution that ideally provides emotional support, stability, and companionship; however, persistent marital conflict can significantly affect the mental health and overall well-being of women. The study focuses on understanding the emotional, psychological, and social consequences such as stress, anxiety, depression, social isolation, and reduced self-esteem among women. A descriptive research design was adopted to study the existing conditions without manipulation. The universe of the study includes married women experiencing marital conflict, and a total of 50 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire, while secondary data was gathered from books, journals, and online sources. A pilot study and pre-test were conducted to ensure the reliability and clarity of the tool. The findings indicate that marital conflict leads to significant psychological distress, emotional imbalance, and social challenges among women. The study emphasizes the need for counselling services, awareness programs, and effective support systems to enhance women's mental health and overall well-being.

The Doctor Appointment Booking System is a digital healthcare platform designed to enhance clinical decision making, improve service transparency, and provide real-time support for patients and healthcare providers. The platform integrates patients, doctors, healthcare administrators, and support staff into a unified system to enable efficient communication, information sharing, and appointment management. It offers real time visibility of doctor availability and appointment schedules, helping patients make informed booking decisions while reducing administrative overhead and waiting times. A Smart Appointment Scheduler assists patients in planning consultations by providing timely reminders and notifications related to booking confirmations, rescheduling, and follow-ups. The system includes modules for Symptom-Based Doctor Recommendation and Medical History Management, which support early identification of health concerns and ensure continuity of care through structured patient records. An AI-based Virtual Health Assistant provides preliminary guidance, answers common health-related queries, and routes complex cases to appropriate medical professionals.

 Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of language in constructing a distinct Behari regional identity during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries under colonial rule. Unlike the organic linguistic nationalism of Europe or Bengal, the multilingual landscape of Bihar encompassing Maithili, Magahi, and Bhojpuri. It was deliberately reshaped by an emerging educated middle class of Kayasthas, Bhumihars, Rajputs, and Muslim ashrafs. Marginalized within Bengal Presidency, this elite rejected philological realities documented by George A. Grierson, who classified Bihari dialects as distinct from Hindi and closer to Bengali-Odia. Instead, they adopted Khari Boli Hindi in Devanagari script as a unifying public vernacular, subordinating local tongues to challenge Bengali administrative and cultural hegemony. The Hindi-Nagri movement marked the pivotal phase, transforming script politics from Persian dominance to Nagari adoption via Lieutenant-Governor George Campbell's vernacular push and the 1880 Bengal Resolution mandating its use in Patna and Bhagalpur courts. Newspapers like Bihar Bandhu (1872) and Bihar Times (1894), alongside presses such as Khadag Vilas, standardized Sanskritized Hindi, fostering a public sphere while relegating dialects to the domestic realm. Figures like Ayodhya Prasad Khatri radicalized the Hindi canon, advocating Khari Boli poetry to bridge Hindu-Muslim divides and align Bihar with the North-Western Provinces' Hindi heartland. This linguistic maneuver countered Bengali claims of affinity, framed Bihar's "internal colonization," and justified separation demands in works like Mahesh Narayan and Sachchidananda Sinha's The Partition of Bengal or the Separation of Bihar? (1906). Educational disparities--Patna College's late founding (1863)--further propelled Hindi-medium advocacy for local autonomy. Culminating in Bihar's 1912 partition, this constructed identity prioritized political viability over cultural authenticity, sowing seeds of postcolonial linguistic alienation. The paper draws on archival resolutions, periodicals, and Grierson's surveys to illuminate elite agency in regional formation.

Skin aging can happen because of genetics or things like pollution, sunlight, and oxidative stress. People are more interested in cosmetics that use natural ingredients these days because they are safer and better for the environment. Punica granatum, or pomegranate peels, are often thrown away, but they have important phytochemicals like punicalagin, ellagic acid, gallic acid, and flavonoids. These substances are very good at fighting free radicals, inflammation, and aging. This review discusses the integration of pomegranate peel extract into serum formulation to achieve anti-aging properties. It involves getting pomegranate peels out of the fruit and testing their phytochemicals, as well as making and testing serum.

Data was collected from 30-35 respondents through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate a moderate level of awareness, with good knowledge of basic rights but gaps in areas like informed consent and patient responsibilities. The study highlights the need for regular training and improved communication to enhance patient care quality.

 Abstract

Abstract Stephen King's 1986 novel is a projection of social exclusion as it explores the polarising aspects of insanity, its signs and symptoms. While focussing on the aspects of psychosis, the narrative takes a dive into searching for the connections that correlate psychosis and collective memory. The novel invites a discussion on psychosis by detailing the salient, characteristic signs of hallucinations, delusions, and mental disorders. Although it has been categorised popularly as a supernatural horror for its sole reliance on the shape-shifting urban legend of Pennywise, yet remaining true to King's typical format of intermingling genres, the novel steers itself into the fertile field of psychosis. The paper engages into the core of psychotic expressions in fictional narrative by drawing upon ideas such as Jasper's noted ideas concerning delusions, Freud's theory involving the uncanny and the repression and Bion's theory of group psychology. The novel attempts at depicting Derry as the setting that acts as the nucleus that provides the suitable cocoon for the incubation of psychosis. The setting behaves as a psychic split as it is metamorphosed into a zone where violence is normalised. In this regard, the paper does what is done by Cathy Caruth and Judith Herman, which is to scrutinise and interpret the relatedness of trauma and repression, and its effects. The study is more than a simple projection of symptoms of psychosis in the novel. It becomes a therapeutic engagement as it details the psychological strategies of recursion, doubled timelines and polyphony while narrating the cognitive and perceptual instability of the characters.

 Abstract

Abstract The growing adoption of digital gadgets in young children has led to concerns over its effects on early communication skills. The study focuses on the connection between screen time and speech and language development among preschool children (aged 1.7-6 years) as viewed by parents in Shillong, Meghalaya. It involved a quantitative cross-sectional study that involved 100 parents via use of a structured questionnaire. Correlation analysis showed that there exists a significant positive relationship between screen time and language development (r = 0.324, p < 0.01) whereas regression analysis revealed that screen time has a small but significant influence on the vocabulary acquisition (r = 0.164, p < 0.001, R 2 = 0.027). The results indicate that the practical effects of screen time objectively on vocabulary though statistically significant, are not significant and other environmental and interactional factors are more significant. The study points out the importance of moderate media consumption, mediating activities by parents, and culturally sensitive guidelines in promoting healthy communication formation in early childhood.
