 Abstract

This study examines the anti-diabetic potential of ten substituted benzohydrazide derivatives using 2D and 3D QSAR models. The Principal Component Regression (PCR) method and k-NN MFA model were employed to establish predictive relationships. Compounds 01, 03, and 05 demonstrated the highest activity. Statistical analysis confirmed the interpolative nature of the test set, ensuring predictive reliability. The results highlight QSAR's effectiveness in drug design, providing valuable insights into computational approaches for diabetes treatment.

 Abstract

Some students are registered for courses at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), but they do not show up for class or quizzes. These students will receive a failing grade in that course if their performance is tracked. Furthermore, they will not cancel the classes either. Students of this type will receive lower CGPAs and be less likely to find employment. We employ machine learning algorithms in our project to forecast students' outcomes in advance. We can therefore concentrate on the pupils who received failing grades in the early prediction. Additionally, we can advise their parents to focus on their child's schooling. By doing everything possible, we can encourage the students to focus on their studies in order to get a high CGPA and land a job.

 Abstract

This study addresses environmental and health issues related to chemical mosquito repellents. It aims to develop a safe, chemical-free, affordable, and easily produced mosquito repellent using Azadirachta indica, a plant known for its potential as a natural insect repellent. The increasing demand for effective, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable mosquito repellents underscores the relevance of this research. Mosquito repellent incense stick is designed to produce smoke that keeps mosquitoes and other insects away using natural or chemical ingredients with an unpleasant scent for these pests. It burns slowly, releasing fragrant smoke that deters insects while also adding aroma to the environment.

Through a descriptive and analytical approach grounded in morphological data, the paper investigates how these categories are encoded morphophonologically in verb inflections. The paper aims to contribute to the broader understanding of language variation and change within the Bangla dialect continuum.

 Abstract

This paper introduces a novel multi-label classification algorithm - MLCA - that advances the state of previous work, through continuous learning. MLCA has a CIM-based Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART) framework and a Bayesian method for calculating label probabilities. With the MLCA method, it is possible to identify cluster membership from sequentially provided training instances and labels. The MLCA approach proposes two different paradigms (MLCA-I, MLCA-C) to improve classification performance based on the Cluster Interpretation Matrix (CIM). Both MLCA paradigms were aimed at maximizing continual learning capabilities with classification accuracy. The presented experimental investigation demonstrates how MLCA can outperform traditional machine learning algorithms in classification performance too, while also maximally keeping any previously learned capability to accommodate for new evidence data without forgetting. In addition, the experiments show that modifying how the CIM is calculated in MLCA improves overall performance even further. We highlighted that the important issues of handling concept drift and mixed datasets containing external, numerical, and categorical data, definitely present some important challenges for continual learning algorithms. The future work will investigate improving the proposed methods handling these challenges through continual learning and under continuous provision of data, as well as mixed data types representations.

 Abstract

The nursing students must contend with demanding academic, clinical, and emotional requirements, which frequently leads to high levels of stress and anxiety. These stressors may negatively impact their general mental health, clinical competency, and academic performance if left unchecked. As alternative psychological interventions has grown, bibliotherapy--the therapeutic use of reading--has become a method of stress management and emotional resilience building. According to the review, nursing students deal with a range of stressors, like, personal difficulties, clinical obligations, and academic pressures. Bibliotherapy lowered stress, boosting emotional well-being, and improving coping mechanisms in its self-help, clinical, and creative forms. Studies conducted in India and around the world confirm its potential as a supplement to conventional therapies. Nursing students may benefit from the low-cost, promising mental health intervention known as bibliotherapy. Its integration into classroom environments may promote better academic performance and mental health. It is advised to conduct additional extensive, long-term research to confirm its efficacy over the long run.

 Abstract

This study explores the significant role of women in African-Caribbean literature, with a particular focus on Edwidge Danticat's novel Breath, Eyes, Memory. Danticat, a Haitian-American writer, presents a nuanced portrayal of Haitian women's lives, emphasizing themes such as identity, migration, trauma, memory, and generational legacy. The novel, set in both Haiti and the United States, follows the life of Sophie Caco, a young Haitian girl who immigrates to New York to reunite with her estranged mother. Through Sophie's personal journey, Danticat examines how colonial history, patriarchal structures and cultural traditions shape the lives and bodies of women in Haitian society. Central to the novel is the theme of female identity, particularly how it is constructed and constrained by socio-cultural expectations. The narrative delves into the ritual of "testing," a painful practice that symbolizes the control of female sexuality and purity. Through Sophie's resistance to this tradition, Danticat critiques the internalized misogyny that perpetuates gendered violence. At the same time, she highlights the silence, shame, and trauma passed down from mothers to daughters. The novel becomes a powerful testimony to the ways in which women both suffer under and challenge the oppressive structures of their society. Another key focus of the study is the role of migration in transforming women's roles and identities. Sophie's move from Haiti to the United States represents not only a geographical shift but also a journey toward self-realization and emancipation. In America, she encounters both opportunities and alienation. Her struggle to reconcile her Haitian heritage with her new identity as an immigrant woman in a diasporic context reflects the broader dilemmas faced by many Caribbean women. Danticat uses this narrative to interrogate the complexities of diasporic identity, where tradition and modernity often clash. Furthermore, the paper explores how Danticat employs memory and storytelling as tools of healing and resistance. The voices of women--mothers, grandmothers and daughters--are central to the narrative structure, revealing how oral tradition plays a vital role in preserving culture and empowering women. The intergenerational bonds among women in the novel underscore a shared history of endurance and resilience. Ultimately, Breath, Eyes, Memory challenges the reader to rethink the portrayal of women in African-Caribbean literature--not merely as passive victims of patriarchy, but as active agents of change, resistance, and renewal. Danticat's work illuminates the struggles and strengths of Caribbean women, portraying them as complex individuals navigating layers of oppression while forging paths toward freedom.
