The present study evaluates the anthelmintic potential of Pongamia pinnata (L.) Pierre (Fabaceae) leaf extracts against selected helminth species. Helminthiasis, a major health issue in tropical and subtropical regions, affects both humans and livestock, leading to significant socioeconomic burdens. Traditional medicine has long employed plant-based remedies for the treatment of parasitic infections, and Pongamia pinnata, known for its diverse pharmacological properties, has shown promise in ethnomedicinal applications. In this study, crude extracts of Pongamia pinnata leaves were prepared using solvents of increasing polarity: petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol, and aqueous medium. The extracts were tested for anthelmintic activity against adult earthworms (Pheretima posthuma) due to their physiological similarity to parasitic nematodes. Parameters such as paralysis time and death time were recorded and compared with a standard reference drug, albendazole. Among all extracts, the methanolic leaf extract exhibited the most potent anthelmintic activity, with significantly reduced paralysis and death times in a dose-dependent manner. Phytochemical screening indicated the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids, which may contribute to the observed pharmacological effect. These findings suggest that Pongamia pinnata leaves possess promising anthelmintic properties and warrant further investigation for the development of plant-based anthelmintic formulations.

Background: Asthma, affecting individuals across all age groups, poses a significant challenge in our society. Bronchial asthma is a prevalent and potentially severe condition marked by chronic airway inflammation and heightened responsiveness, causing symptoms such as breathlessness, bronchoconstriction, wheezing, difficulty with expectoration, and discomfort when lying supine. The condition Tamaka Shwasa, as detailed in Ayurveda within the Hikka-Shwasa Chikitsa Adhyaya, closely parallels the modern medical understanding of Bronchial asthma and is considered Yapya, or manageable but persistent. Aim:This study aims to assess and compare the effectiveness of Nidigdhikadi Kwatha and Devadarvyadi Kwatha in treating Tamaka Shwasa. Materials and Methods: The study involved 43 patients diagnosed with Tamaka Shwasa, aged between 20 and 65 years, who met the inclusion criteria and were selected randomly. Twenty patients were assigned to Group A, receiving Nidigdhikadi Kwatha, and another 20 were placed in Group B, receiving Devadarvyadi Kwatha. Nidigdhikadi Kwatha is detailed by Acharya Sharangdhar in Kwathadi Kalpana, while Devadarvyadi Kwatha is mentioned in Yogaratnakara for the management of Shwasa Roga. Both formulations were administered orally at a dosage of 40 ml twice daily over a four-week trial period, followed by a two-week follow-up. Results indicated that both Nidigdhikadi Kwatha and Devadarvyadi Kwatha demonstrated favorable clinical and percentage-based outcomes in subjective and objective evaluations of Tamaka Shwasa. Conclusion: The trial demonstrated significant effects on asthma symptoms, with the trial group experiencing a greater overall percentage of relief compared to the control group.

Increased collagen-mediated platelet activation is associated with diabetes and is a contributing factor to thrombo-ischemic consequences. The primary platelet collagen receptor has just recently been determined to be the platelet glycoprotein VI (GPVI). Diabetes is a major contributor to ischaemic stroke, retinopathy, and chronic renal failure due to accelerated atherosclerosis and diabetic microvascular disease. Collagen-induced platelet activation and aggregation are significantly influenced by platelet glycoprotein VI (GPVI). Additionally, diabetes lowers platelet nitric oxide synthase activity. Therefore, the development of antiplatelet therapies that specifically reduce atherothrombosis without interfering with bleeding control remained an unmet therapeutic demand. Numerous saccharin derivatives that have been shown to exhibit anti-cancer efficacy against isoforms of the human carbonic anhydrase enzyme were subjected to docking and ADMET experiments, after which their physical characteristics were assessed.

Skin care importance has become more significant in these days. In this study, a herbal face mask formulation was created and assessed. Two distinct formulation batches were made using orange powder, aloe vera, rose water, and dragon fruit. The organoleptic characteristics, pH, homogeneity, irritancy, and spreadability were all evaluated. For both batches, the organoleptic evaluation came back as expected. For both formulation batches, the formulation's pH was determined to be 6. It was discovered that both formulation batches were spreadable. It was discovered that none of the formulation batches were non-irritating. For both formulations, the degree of homogeneity was found to be good. The results of the study show encouraging advancements in the production of herbal face masks. However, more research will be required to improve patient compliance and market cosmetics.

This study investigates the influence of utilitarian and hedonic value on customer purchase intention. It examines how these two dimensions of perceived value interact and contribute to consumer decisions across different product categories. The research explores the relative importance of each value type and considers moderating factors, such as product involvement and consumer characteristics. Empirical evidence suggests that both utilitarian and hedonic value significantly impact purchase intention, with their relative importance varying based on contextual factors. The findings offer insights for marketers seeking to enhance consumer appeal and drive sales by strategically leveraging both utilitarian and hedonic aspects of their offerings. Ultimately, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of consumer behavior and value perception.

This study explores the application of machine learning (ML) algorithms in predicting real estate prices using housing-related features such as house age, distance to MRT stations, and number of nearby convenience stores. Four models--Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and Neural Networks--were evaluated using a dataset of 414 housing transactions. Performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and ROC-AUC were used to compare the models. The goal is to determine the most effective algorithm for house price prediction based on various evaluation metrics and dataset characteristics. The results show that ANN outperforms other models in prediction accuracy, while Random Forest offers an optimal balance between performance and interpretability. SVM demonstrates solid performance on smaller datasets but lacks scalability. Logistic Regression, though efficient, struggles with nonlinear relationships. This research contributes valuable insights for real estate stakeholders aiming to leverage ML for data-driven property valuation.
