Neck pain is among the most prevalent musculoskeletal issues globally, impacting 42% to 67% of young adults. Neck pain is a common complaint among individuals who work extensively with computers. Prolonged periods of computer use can lead to significant strain on the body's muscles, particularly those in the neck, resulting in discomfort and pain in that area. Neck pain was found to be prevalent in 68.6% of population of IT professionals and out of them 34.6 % having chronic neck pain. IT professionals use their hand for typing and grasping mouse for prolonged period. So, hand grip strength must be good enough to perform work effectively and accurately. The current study intended to find correlation of neck pain as measured by Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) with grip strength measured by hand held dynamometer in kilogram.

Environmental accounting and disclosure practices play a vital role in promoting sustainable business operations and strengthening corporate transparency. In the context of growing environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and depletion of natural resources, stakeholders increasingly expect organizations to assume greater responsibility for their environmental impacts. Accordingly, the present study examines the nature and extent of environmental accounting and reporting in mandatory corporate reports for the year 2024-25. The study analyses environmental disclosure practices in the annual and sustainability reports of ten selected Red Category industries across different sectors, which are recognized as highly polluting. An Environmental Disclosure Index (EDI) consisting of 22 variables was developed based on an extensive review of prior literature. A descriptive research design was adopted, and statistical tools such as descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test were used for data analysis. The findings reveal a lack of uniformity in environmental disclosures and indicate that environmental accounting practices remain inadequate. Although the selected companies report environmental information largely in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework and such disclosures are mandated by regulatory authorities such as the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), SEBI, and the Companies Act, 2013, a significant gap persists in the reporting of quantitative environmental accounting information. Therefore, the study recommends that all corporate entities, regardless of their nature, size, or sector, should integrate environmental accounting and disclosure practices into their financial statements to enhance accountability and promote sustainable business practices.

Institutional repositories (IRs) are digital collections designed to manage, preserve, and provide public access to an institution's scholarly output. For Indian universities, IRs play a critical role in preserving institutional memory, enhancing visibility, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements, including participation in national initiatives such as INFLIBNET and Shodhganga. This paper proposes a comprehensive framework for the development and implementation of an institutional repository at Aliah University. The study outlines the objectives, scope, types of collections, metadata and technical considerations, policy elements, stakeholder engagement strategies, and a phased implementation roadmap.

Abstract Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has emerged as the dominant welfare delivery mechanism in India since the early 2010s, replacing large parts of the older subsidy and in-kind distribution architecture with electronic transfers routed directly into beneficiaries' bank accounts. Built on the foundation of the JAM trinity, that is, Jan Dhan bank accounts, Aadhaar biometric identity and mobile connectivity, DBT was conceived primarily as a governance reform intended to reduce leakage, curb corruption and improve targeting accuracy in welfare programmes. This paper reviews the policy evolution of DBT in India and synthesises empirical evidence on its performance across major sectors including cooking-fuel subsidy, food distribution, employment guarantee payments, and health-linked transfers. The review finds robust evidence that DBT has reduced diversion of subsidised commodities to black markets and shortened payment delays, but it also documents a recurring and serious cost: exclusion errors that deny genuine beneficiaries access to entitlements because of authentication failures, banking-infrastructure gaps or database mismatches. The paper argues that DBT should be understood not as a uniformly poverty-reducing technology but as a delivery mechanism whose welfare effects depend heavily on the quality of last-mile implementation, an argument that motivates the district-level evaluation of DBT effectiveness undertaken later in this research programme.

Chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and chronic kidney disease are among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Effective self-care practices play a vital role in preventing complications and improving the quality of life of individuals living with chronic diseases. With the rapid advancement of digital technologies, digital health literacy has emerged as an important determinant of successful self-management. Digital health literacy refers to an individual's ability to search, understand, evaluate, and apply health information obtained through digital platforms such as websites, mobile applications, telemedicine services, and social media. Individuals with higher levels of digital health literacy are better equipped to monitor their health, adhere to treatment regimens, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and make informed decisions regarding disease management. In community settings, community health nurses have an important responsibility in promoting digital health literacy through health education, counseling, and digital training programs. This article discusses the concept of digital health literacy, its relationship with self-care practices among adults with chronic diseases, the role of community health nurses, barriers to effective digital health utilization, and recommendations for strengthening community-based interventions. Improving digital health literacy has the potential to enhance self-care behaviors, reduce hospital admissions, and improve overall health outcomes.

The doctrine of harmonious construction is one of the most significant principles of constitutional and statutory interpretation, enabling courts to reconcile apparently conflicting legal provisions without rendering any part of the law redundant or ineffective. Rooted in the presumption that the legislature intends every provision of a statute or the Constitution to operate meaningfully, the doctrine seeks to preserve legislative intent, maintain constitutional coherence, and promote the rule of law. In Indian constitutional jurisprudence, the Supreme Court has consistently employed this doctrine to resolve conflicts between Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy, competing constitutional provisions, legislative privileges, religious freedoms, and the distribution of powers between the Union and the States. Through a series of landmark decisions, the Court has transformed harmonious construction from a traditional rule of statutory interpretation into an indispensable principle of constitutional adjudication. This article undertakes a doctrinal and analytical study of the doctrine of harmonious construction in the Indian constitutional framework. It examines the theoretical foundations of legal interpretation, traces the evolution of the doctrine through judicial precedents, and analyses its application in significant constitutional decisions delivered by the Supreme Court of India. The study further explores the relationship between harmonious construction and constitutional values such as the basic structure doctrine, constitutional supremacy, judicial review, and the preservation of legislative intent. While recognizing the doctrine as an essential interpretative tool for resolving constitutional conflicts, the article also critically evaluates its limitations, particularly the expanding role of judicial interpretation and the potential risk of judicial overreach under the guise of harmonization. It argues that the legitimacy of the doctrine depends upon its careful and restrained application, ensuring that judicial interpretation facilitates constitutional coherence without encroaching upon the legislative domain. The article concludes that harmonious construction continues to remain a vital instrument for preserving constitutional balance, promoting institutional harmony, and ensuring that the Constitution functions as an integrated and dynamic legal framework responsive to contemporary constitutional challenges.
