 Abstract

Lifelong learning improves women's health by enhancing health literacy, and increasing self-advocacy. Educated women are more likely to seek preventive care, navigate non-communicable diseases, and manage menopausal transitions than uneducated women. Continuous learning also breaks cycles of poor maternal health and shifts traditional gender norms within households and also as well as in the society. Adult education has developed into lifelong learning over time, involving individuals of multiple ages and geographical locations, with an emphasis on underserved populations, such as those with low incomes. The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasises an adult education paradigm to improve life satisfaction and well-being for everyone, especially women and marginalized groups. In this research paper, the researcher tries to explain the impact of Lifelong learning on well-being and happiness of women in India.

 Abstract

Health insurance has emerged as a critical instrument for financial protection in India, driven by rising medical costs and robust sector growth. This study examines the factors influencing health insurance awareness and adoption among residents of the Tiruchirappalli district. Employing a descriptive research design, data were gathered from 174 sample respondents utilising a structured questionnaire administered via convenient sampling methods across urban and rural localities. The demographic profile reveals a predominant segment of graduates and middle-income earners aged 31-45 years. The empirical analysis demonstrates that while policyholders possess strong awareness regarding premium rates and cashless benefits, substantial gaps persist concerning complex pre-existing disease clauses and claim procedures. Insurance agents remain the primary information source, followed by social networks and digital media. Family financial security and cashless facilities act as the principal drivers for policy adoption, whereas high premium costs and rigid terms constitute major barriers. Crucially, Chi-square testing established a highly significant association between respondents' monthly income and their health insurance awareness level, confirming that higher income corresponds to elevated policy understanding. To accelerate penetration, insurers must simplify policy wording, design affordable micro-insurance products for low-income brackets, and leverage digital platforms alongside traditional agents. This research provides valuable insights for insurers and policymakers aiming to minimise out-of-pocket health expenditures.

 Abstract

Mental health disparities among LGBTQ+ populations are a major problem that's focussed in contemporary research. Minority Stress Theory (MST) provides a framework for understanding how stigma, discrimination, identity concealment, and expectations of rejection contribute to adverse mental health outcomes. This narrative review examined the role of MST in explaining mental health disparities among LGBTQ+ individuals and evaluated its strengths and limitations. The reviewed literature consistently showed that minority stress is associated with higher levels of depression, anxiety, and psychological distress, while protective factors such as social support, family acceptance, and resilience promote better mental health outcomes. Although MST remains a widely supported and influential framework, its limited focus on structural and intersectional factors highlights the need for further theoretical development. Overall, MST continues to be a valuable tool for understanding LGBTQ+ mental health disparities and guiding future research.

 Abstract

Background: Night terrors (sleep terrors) are parasomnias characterized by sudden episodes of fear, confusion, and autonomic arousal occurring during deep non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep. Although they are more common in children, persistent night terrors in adults can negatively affect sleep quality, psychological well-being, and daily functioning. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of symptoms associated with night terrors, identify related psychological and lifestyle risk factors, and assess their impact among young adult female participants. Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire-based study was conducted among 30 female participants aged 18-23 years who voluntarily participated after providing informed verbal consent. Data were collected using a structured 30-item questionnaire assessing sleep patterns, nocturnal symptoms, psychological status, lifestyle habits, and factors influencing sleep quality. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the responses, and findings were expressed as frequencies and percentages. Results: The study revealed a high prevalence of sleep-related disturbances among the participants. Commonly reported symptoms included sudden awakening with confusion, disturbed sleep, waking up feeling unrefreshed, episodes of night terrors, nighttime panic, screaming during sleep, and racing thoughts. Psychological factors such as stress, excessive worrying, and emotional suppression were frequently observed. Lifestyle habits including evening caffeine consumption, daytime napping, frequent junk food intake, and late bedtimes were also common and appeared to be associated with poor sleep quality. Conclusion: Night terrors and related sleep disturbances were highly prevalent in this study population and appeared to be influenced by psychological stress and modifiable lifestyle factors. Improving sleep hygiene, promoting stress management, and increasing awareness of sleep disorders may help reduce these disturbances. Further studies involving larger and more diverse populations with objective sleep assessments are recommended to validate these findings.

 Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to examine emotional maturity of high school students and its relationship to their academic achievement. The study used normative survey method. The number of samples 300 high school students was randomly selected from government, government aided and private schools. The Emotional Maturity Scale was developed and validated by Dr. B. Prema and the half yearly examination marks obtained from the student's school records were used for measuring academic achievement. The data collected were analysed using percentage analysis, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test and Pearson's product-moment correlation. Results showed that most of high school students had moderate level of emotional maturity. A positive and significant relationship was found between emotional maturity and academic achievement. Some demographic variables were found to have significant differences in emotional maturity, while the others were not found. The study highlights the significance of fostering emotional maturity in learners through school counseling, life skills education and nurturing school environments to boost their academic achievements and general mental health.

 Abstract

India, as a developing nation, considers cottage industries to be one of the major pillars of employment generation and decentralized economic development. However, the standard of living of workers engaged in these traditional industries remains highly vulnerable due to uncertain income, limited social security, and unstable economic conditions. The present review study provides a systematic and critical analysis of the interrelationship among the educational motivation, family environment, and socio-economic status of adolescent students whose parents are employed in cottage industries. A comprehensive evaluation of available secondary literature, national surveys, and previous research reveals that a low socio-economic status directly contributes to stress within the family environment, which adversely affects both the intrinsic and extrinsic educational motivation of adolescents. Conversely, parental awareness and an emotionally supportive family environment can foster high educational aspirations among students despite financial hardships. The study concludes that family environment acts as a mediating factor between socio-economic status and educational motivation. It provides a valuable conceptual framework for policymakers, educators, and sociologists to design targeted educational interventions aimed at improving the academic motivation and educational outcomes of children belonging to families of workers engaged in the cottage industry sector.

 Abstract

This study examines the potential of revitalizing Assam's economy through the sustainable development of Sarthebari's traditional bell-metal craft by analyzing its historical significance, economic contribution, opportunities for growth, and the challenges confronting the industry. The research adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach based on secondary data collected from scholarly journals, government publications, policy reports, books, and credible online sources. The study explores the role of the bell-metal industry in employment generation, rural entrepreneurship, cultural tourism, and export promotion while highlighting issues such as increasing raw material costs, competition from machine-made products, limited access to finance, inadequate technological modernization, declining interest among younger generations, and weak marketing infrastructure. It further examines the significance of Geographical Indication (GI Tag) recognition, digital commerce, skill development, design innovation, cluster-based industrial development, and public policy support as strategic measures for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector. The findings suggest that with coordinated efforts involving government agencies, artisans, cooperatives, private enterprises, and educational institutions, Sarthebari's heritage bell-metal craft can become an important driver of inclusive economic growth, employment generation, and cultural preservation in Assam.
