The traditional craft of handweaving has been practiced in India since centuries, and has supported the livelihood of millions of people throughout history. The different handwoven fabrics found in India are an important part of the country's diverse cultural heritage. Weavers use handlooms to create a variety of fabrics from natural fibres like cotton, linen, wool, and silk. Weavers from different parts of India have given us a vast range of fabrics characterized by their materials, techniques, colours, motifs, and patterns. But with time, many weavers drifted away from handweaving and changed their profession due to various factors, leading to a decline in the number of weavers in the country. The dominance of fast fashion in today's world has also resulted in increasing use of power looms, which can produce fabrics faster and require less labour as compared to traditional handlooms. This research paper examines the existing literature and explores the different reasons that have led to the decline of handweaving and the demand of handwoven products in India and the current status of this craft in the country.

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) represents a sophisticated amalgamation of philosophical inquiry, scientific methodology and practical application developed over millennia in the Indian subcontinent. This paper examines the methodological process within IKS, exploring the epistemological frameworks, research approaches and pedagogical methods that distinguish Indian knowledge traditions from Western paradigms. The research investigates the systematic processes of knowledge acquisition, validation, transmission and application embedded within Indian intellectual traditions, including the Yukti (reason) method, the epistemological framework of Pramana (means of knowledge) and the holistic integration of empirical observation with philosophical inquiry. Through analysis of primary textual traditions and contemporary scholarship, this study identifies the core methodological principles that characterize IKS, including experiential learning, multidisciplinary integration, contemplative practices and community-based knowledge transmission. The findings reveal that IKS methodology offers robust frameworks for addressing contemporary challenges in education, healthcare, sustainability and technology. This paper contributes to the growing discourse on decolonizing research methodologies and positions IKS as an essential resource for developing culturally grounded, holistic approaches to knowledge production and application in the twenty-first century.

Digital payment systems have revolutionized small-scale commerce in tier-2 cities like Salem, Tamil Nadu. However, operational hurdles such as delayed transactions and stringent cyber-security regulations pose significant challenges to small business owners. This study examines the impact of delayed digital transactions on the daily operations and working capital of small businesses (N=60) in Salem. A structured questionnaire was used for primary data collection, and statistical tools including Percentage Analysis, Chi-Square, and ANOVA were employed. The findings reveal a significant association between the nature of the business and the perceived impact of transaction delays, particularly affecting businesses with high daily transaction volumes like food stalls and retail grocers. Furthermore, awareness of cyber-security regulations remains fragmented across age groups. The study suggests targeted interventions by banking institutions to minimize server downtimes and enhance cyber-literacy among local merchants.

Purpose: The textile industry depends significantly on blue-collar employees whose performance directly influences productivity, product quality, safety, and organizational competitiveness. However, challenges such as repetitive work, demanding working conditions, high employee turnover, absenteeism, and limited opportunities for growth often result in low employee engagement. This paper proposes the 5Cs Employee Engagement Framework as a practical strategy to enhance workforce motivation, commitment, and organizational performance. Methodology: This study adopts a conceptual approach by integrating established employee engagement principles with the operational realities of the textile industry. The proposed framework comprises five interconnected dimensions--Connect, Care, Coach, Contribute, and Congratulate--supported by an implementation roadmap and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for organizational evaluation. Findings: The framework emphasizes strengthening supervisor-employee relationships, promoting employee well-being, developing skills through continuous coaching, encouraging participation in organizational improvement initiatives, and recognizing employee contributions. Effective implementation is expected to improve employee satisfaction, productivity, product quality, workplace safety, innovation, and retention while reducing absenteeism, turnover, and recruitment costs. Practical Implications: The 5Cs Framework provides textile organizations with a simple, scalable, and people-centred engagement model that can be incorporated into day-to-day supervisory practices and human resource strategies. It offers managers a structured approach to building an engaged and high-performing blue-collar workforce. Originality/Value: The proposed 5Cs Framework presents an industry-specific employee engagement model tailored to the unique needs of blue-collar workers in the textile sector. By integrating communication, care, capability development, participation, and recognition into a unified strategy, the framework contributes to both employee well-being and sustainable organizational success.

The rapid growth of digital technologies has significantly increased cybersecurity threats targeting end users. Despite advancements in technical security mechanisms, human behavior continues to remain one of the weakest links in cybersecurity systems. Users frequently experience difficulties in understanding complex security procedures, leading to unsafe practices such as password reuse, ignoring warnings, and susceptibility to phishing attacks. This study proposes a User-Centric Cyber Security Framework (UCCSF) aimed at enhancing user compliance and overall security effectiveness by integrating usability, personalization, behavioral reinforcement, adaptive security mechanisms, and trust-building components into a unified framework. The study adopts a quantitative research methodology using a structured questionnaire distributed among digital platform users in India. A total of 110 valid responses were collected and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that usability significantly influences user compliance, while personalization and adaptive authentication mechanisms improve user engagement and trust in security systems.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of global mortality, with a disproportionate burden in low- and middle-income countries such as India. Modifiable risk factors including physical inactivity, obesity, hypertension, and unhealthy dietary habits contribute significantly to early onset of CVD, yet awareness and preventive behaviors remain inconsistent. This narrative review synthesizes evidence from 42 studies (2010-2025) examining cardiovascular health literacy and physical activity patterns among apparently healthy adults. Findings reveal moderate-to-good knowledge of cardiovascular risk factors in most populations, yet physical inactivity persists across diverse demographic groups, particularly women and urban residents. Importantly, knowledge alone does not consistently translate into preventive behaviors, underscoring a persistent knowledge-behavior gap. Barriers such as cultural norms, socioeconomic constraints, and limited infrastructure further attenuate the impact of health literacy. Effective prevention requires multi-faceted strategies that integrate behavioral counselling, self-efficacy enhancement, and environmental restructuring alongside conventional education. Future research should employ longitudinal designs and randomized trials to evaluate interventions that bridge the awareness-action divide. This review highlights the urgent need for comprehensive, context-specific approaches to reduce the long-term cardiovascular burden in seemingly healthy populations.

BackgroundKukunaka is a well-described ocular disorder in Ayurvedic literature affecting newborns and infants. It is characterized by redness of the eyes, swelling of the eyelids, excessive lacrimation, sticky discharge, and difficulty in opening the eyes. These clinical manifestations closely resemble Ophthalmia Neonatorum, an acute conjunctival infection occurring during the neonatal period. Prompt diagnosis and timely management are essential to prevent corneal involvement and preserve normal vision.AimTo evaluate the effectiveness of Ayurvedic management in a clinically diagnosed case of Kukunaka (Ophthalmia Neonatorum).Case PresentationA 15-day-old male neonate was brought to the Kaumarabhritya outpatient department with complaints of redness of both eyes, swelling of the eyelids, continuous watering, mucopurulent discharge, and inability to open the eyes completely for three days. Based on classical Ayurvedic signs and clinical examination, the condition was diagnosed as Kukunaka.InterventionThe patient was managed with a comprehensive Ayurvedic treatment protocol consisting of gentle cleansing of the eyes using sterile Yashtimadhu Phanta, external application of Shatadhauta Ghrita over the eyelids to reduce inflammation, age-appropriate internal Ayurvedic medicines possessing Kapha-Pitta Shamaka, Shothahara, Krimighna, and Raktaprasadana properties, along with strict ocular hygiene and exclusive breastfeeding. The child was monitored regularly for seven days.ResultsProgressive improvement was observed during treatment. Redness, eyelid swelling, lacrimation, and mucopurulent discharge reduced significantly. By the seventh day, the infant was able to open both eyes comfortably without residual discharge or adverse effects.ConclusionThe present case demonstrates that appropriately selected Ayurvedic interventions may provide safe and effective symptomatic relief in Kukunaka (Ophthalmia Neonatorum). Early management with suitable local and systemic therapies, together with proper hygiene, may help prevent complications and promote healthy ocular recovery in neonates.
