 Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains a major contributor to global mortality, creating a strong need for accurate and timely risk prediction methods. This study presents a machine learning-based framework for predicting heart disease risk using a healthcare dataset containing 2,000 patient records with clinical, lifestyle, genetic, and biometric features. Data preprocessing techniques were applied to prepare the dataset for model training and evaluation. Five machine learning algorithms--Decision Tree, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM)--were developed and compared. Model performance was evaluated using Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-Score metrics. Experimental findings revealed that Logistic Regression achieved the best performance, attaining a classification accuracy of 97.6%, outperforming Random Forest (95.0%), Decision Tree (93.4%), SVM (85.8%), and KNN (82.4%). In addition, a 5-fold cross-validation procedure produced a mean accuracy of 98.44%, demonstrating the stability and reliability of the proposed approach. These findings indicate that machine-learning techniques can effectively support early heart disease risk assessment and assist healthcare professionals in clinical decision-making.

 Abstract

Parental support plays a vital role in shaping a student's academic performance as well as emotional well-being. For students, the involvement of parents in their education through guidance, encouragement, and understanding helps in building confidence, motivation, and effective study habits. Positive parental support such as helping with studies, appreciating efforts, and maintaining open communication contributes significantly to a student's overall development. On the other hand, lack of parental support or excessive parental pressure may lead to stress, anxiety, fear of failure, and reduced academic confidence, thereby negatively affecting students' performance and classroom engagement. In the present educational scenario, students often face various challenges such as academic expectations, competition, and parental pressure. While some level of guidance is beneficial, excessive pressure or lack of involvement can create emotional imbalance and impact students' concentration, motivation, and interest in studies. This highlighted the need to understand how parental behaviour influences students' academic experiences and to promote a balanced and supportive home environment. Therefore, the study was conducted to examine the effects of parental support and parental pressure on students' academic performance and emotional well-being. The researcher used a descriptive research design of survey method for the study. The sample consisted of 60 students including 34 boys and 26 girls from class IXth of SSC board school. The data was collected using a four-point Likert rating scale consisting of 15 statements, and the data was analysed using graphical representation. The findings highlighted that a balanced approach, where parents provide guidance and encouragement without creating undue pressure, is essential for improving students' academic performance and emotional well-being.

 Abstract

Early numeracy skills are a vital basis for later mathematical learning and general academic success. Differences in access to language, opportunity to communicate, and exposure to instructional situations may create additional challenges to learning numerical ideas for preschool children who are deaf or hard of hearing. The present study investigated the effectiveness of a Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) program, the Computer Assisted Learning in Kannada for Early Literacy and Early Numeracy (CAL-KELEN) program, in developing early numeracy abilities among Kannada speaking preschool children with hearing loss. A concurrent mixed-method, two-group pre-test post-test intervention design was used. Sixty-four preschool children with hearing loss (32 children in the CAL group and 32 children in the traditional flash-card group) participated in the study. The researcher-developed Test for Examining Early Numeracy Skills in Kannada (TEN-K) was used to test early numeracy. The evaluation included non-numerical comparative measurements, identification and sequencing of numbers, counting and comparison of numbers, operations with numbers, shape concept, money concept and time concept. As the TEN-K scores did not fulfil the normalcy assumption, non-parametric analyses were used. The two groups were not significantly different at baseline (Mann-Whitney U = 497.50, p =0.845). Post-test scores were significantly higher in the CAL group (Median M = 61.00) than in the control group (Median M= 51.00) after intervention. The difference between the groups was statistically significant (U = 985.50, p <0 .001) and the effect size was quite big (r = 0.85). The CAL group increased from M = 26.00 to M = 60.44, whereas the control group increased from M = 26.53 to M = 49.94. Domain-wise results were very high for number recognition and sequencing, counting and comparison, and understanding of operations, shape, money, and time concepts. Qualitative observations also showed enhanced attention, motivation, independence, confidence, and transfer of numerical concepts to the real-life contexts. Analyses for age groups revealed substantial differences in numeracy performance at post-test, with older preschool children generally performing better. The results support the efficacy of a developmentally appropriate, multimodal, and linguistically relevant computer assisted learning program as a supplemental strategy to fostering early numeracy in preschool children with hearing loss.

 Abstract

Postmodern literature is closely linked to the concept of place. Geographical analysis can be greatly inspired by postcolonial narratives. By combining a place and imagined space into a real world, literary authors try to provide new interpretations. Transnational location provides a comprehensive approach to examine how place is depicted in literary works in the context of globalization, migration, and colonization. Major literary studies focused on place and spatiality have brought forth a relationship between people and their place of residence. The understanding of a particular location as experienced by humans is known as perceived place. In order to comprehend how migrations impact the writer's place-making processes, this study attempts to track how transnational fluxes reconfigure location, surroundings and places. The study aims to investigate the extent to which the Firstspace, the perceived location, influences the characters' everyday activities and interactions, creating a strong sense of belonging, and binds their identities to certain rural and urban settings in the book A Strange and Sublime Addressby Amit Chaudhuri.

 Abstract

Cardiovascular events and cardiac insufficiency are regarded as two of the most significant causes of death among the consequences of diabetes.Heart failure eventually results from diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM), which is characterized by diastolic and systolic dysfunction independent of hypertension and coronary heart disease. This condition is closely associated with a high mortality rate in individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM). A new class of hypoglycemic medication called sodium-glucose cotransporter type 2 inhibitors (SGLT2Is) in the excretion of sodium and glucose in the urine. The effects of SGLT2Is on cardiac iron homeostasis, mitochondrial function, anti-inflammation, anti-fibrosis, antioxidative stress, renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system activity, in the heart have been demonstrated. Diabetic cardiomyopathy is associated with endoplasmic reticulum stress, autophagy, programmed cell death, and intestinal flora. When combined, these modifications maximize the synthesis of myocardial ATP and reduce cardiomyocyte death and cardiac fibrosis.

 Abstract

This paper assesses the constitutional framework, historical evolution of tribal classification, and contemporary challenges affecting Adibasi Communities in India. It discusses the implications of state policies, judicial interpretations, and socio-economic changes on their identity and existence. The study argues that a more inclusive and participatory approach to classification and policymaking is essential to ensure social justice, protect cultural diversity, and uphold the constitutional rights of Adibasi peoples. By critically examining these issues, this paper contributes to the ongoing discussions on indigenous identity, recognition, and the future of Adibasi groups in India. Urbanization has been emerged as one of the dominant forces of socio economic changes in India. Among indigenous communities, its impacts can be profound. This article explores how urbanization, industrialization, policies of ancient, medieval, British period, and the policies of Indian Government influence the Tribes. Traditionally Tribes were engaged in food gathering, agriculture that has been affected through economic transformation, cultural shifting and social adaptation. Using field interview as primary data and secondary data the study reveals a complex interplay of opportunity and challenge. Aboriginal people should not be classified on the basis of occupation, language, social organization, regional diversity. Instead they should be unclassified for the sustainability of Tribalism because of their internal index/ physical index like Races, Gene (L3mn), Blood group (O), Totem & Taboos, Colour (White), Status of landed property (Communal), Physical Structure, gentleness/ decency, External index - Nature worship/ Physiolatry, no idol/ deity worship. No Dowry system revelry they pay to Bride for social honour. In such occasions, the using of Sal, Mahua, and other trees in marriage ceremony, and also in other social and cultural activities by the Tribal Communities are over all same. Religiously Tribal people follow Adibasi/Sarna Dharam. Now, their sustainability is in the face of question due to the impacts of Industrialization, urbanization, migration, growth of new settlement, impact of other people (imitate/ mimic), diffusion of religion, culture, societal diffusion, marriage system, lack of self awareness, depersonalization, inferiority complex that are seen in the tribal society.
