 Abstract

Background and Objectives: Manyastambha is a Vata-Kaphaja disorder characterized by neck stiffness, pain, muscle spasm, and restricted cervical movements, comparable to cervical paraspinal muscle spasm. Uttarabhaktika Kaala is indicated in Vyana Vata Dushti; however, its therapeutic significance has not been extensively explored. This study aimed to critically evaluate the concept of Uttarabhaktika Sneha and assess the efficacy of Uttarabhaktika Nasapana of Palasha Kshara Ghruta in the management of Manyastambha. Methods: A clinical study was conducted on 30 patients diagnosed with Manyastambha. Palasha Kshara Ghruta was administered as Uttarabhaktika Nasapana after morning meals. Assessment was based on subjective and objective parameters, including Stambha (muscle spasm), Shoola (pain), and cervical movements (flexion, extension, rotation, and lateral flexion) before treatment, after treatment, and during follow-up. Statistical analysis was performed to evaluate therapeutic efficacy. Results: Highly significant improvement was observed in all assessed parameters. Stambha improved by 53.05% after treatment and 76.38% during follow-up, while Shoola improved by 43.22% and 70.15%, respectively. Follow-up assessment showed improvements of 73.88% in neck flexion, 78.33% in extension, 72.77% in rotation, and 82.22% in lateral flexion. Marked improvement was observed in 15 patients and moderate improvement in 14 patients. Conclusion: Uttarabhaktika Nasapana of Palasha Kshara Ghruta effectively reduced pain, stiffness, muscle spasm, and movement restriction in Manyastambha. The findings highlight the clinical importance of Aushadha Sevana Kaala and demonstrate the therapeutic relevance of Uttarabhaktika Sneha in the management of Manyastambha.

 Abstract

Psychological skills play an important role in competitive volleyball, where players are required to maintain concentration, regulate emotions, sustain confidence, and remain psychologically prepared under demanding competitive conditions. This narrative review examines the literature concerning psychological skills among competitive volleyball players, with particular attention to goal setting, imagery, self-talk, concentration, attentional control, confidence, self-efficacy, relaxation, arousal regulation, and emotional control. Literature was identified from major scholarly databases, with emphasis on studies involving competitive volleyball players and relevant psychological outcomes. The available evidence was organized thematically according to the psychological skills investigated, competitive level, assessment approaches, and major findings. The literature indicates that psychological skills have been examined across different competitive populations, although substantial variation exists in participant characteristics, measurement instruments, and research designs. The findings support a multidimensional understanding of psychological preparation in volleyball and highlight the importance of examining individual psychological skills as distinct but complementary components of competitive readiness. Further research is required to strengthen evidence across competitive levels, improve consistency in assessment, and better understand psychological skills among high-level volleyball players.

 Abstract

There is a clear justification for working from home for a Lagos employee who is stuck in traffic for 2.21 hours everyday. By May 2026, the Nigerian Communications Commission estimated 56.1% internet penetration and 157.4 million internet subscriptions enough connectivity, on paper to make that possible. However, telecom rates increased by up to 50% in February 2025, the Nation's own National Broadband Plan ended its 2020-2025 cycle short of its 70% penetration target, and the national grid continues to fail frequently enough that outages are estimated to cost the economy $1 billion annually. This article makes the case that communication breakdowns in remote and hybrid workplaces in Nigeria are not largely caused by technology and cannot be resolved by purchasing additional software. Four layers make up this design problem: an organizational hierarchy that discourages upward communication; a default preference for synchronous, presence-based coordination inherited from the physical office; infrastructure that is unreliable in small but cumulatively decisive ways; and cost structures that covertly shift the cost of connectivity onto the employee. Different interventions are needed for each tier. A seven-pillar management framework, sector-specific applications for banking, technology, professional services, and public sector, a taxonomy of barriers based on Nigerian operating condition, and a measurement strategy that views communication health as an operational metric rather than a cultural survey question are all outlined in this manuscript.

 Abstract

This paper presents the design, fabrication, and real-world deployment of a power-free, dual-tool manual water tank cleaning system that can be easily fabricated by households at a very low cost using locally available materials. Standard mechanical pressure washers require electricity and waste excessive water, while conventional siphons lack side-wall cleaning capabilities. The proposed system resolves these limitations using two distinct modular units: (1) a 25mm foot-valve suction head integrated with a silicone-bonded cleaning brush (commonly used for washbasin cleaning) for bottom mud evacuation via the siphon effect, and (2) a flexible side-wall scraper utilizing a 25mm PVC backbone, metal rivets, hinges, and high-absorbency cotton pads. Deployed under the brand V-TECH BS, the prototype achieved Google Business Verification with 27 verified 5-Star customer ratings across 150+ residential installations.

 Abstract

Migraine with aura is a complex neurological disorder characterized by episodic, severe headaches preceded by sensory, visual, and cognitive disturbances. Standard pharmacological interventions often manage symptoms temporarily but may carry risk of side effects or incomplete relief. Homoeopathy, a holistic system of medicine, offers a potential individualized approach for managing Classical Migraine. This case report presents a 38-year-old male with a 2-year history of severe recurrent migraine with aura who was successfully managed using individualized homoeopathic treatment. The patient presented with occipital and right ocular pain, severe scalp allodynia, visual disturbances (halo effects, polychrome spectra, zigzags), and a distinct mental aura of depersonalization and altered time perception. Treatment with Anhalonium lewinii 30 supplemented by Phytum 200 resulted in complete clinical resolution and recovery. This case underscores the therapeutic potential of homoeopathy as an effective alternative or integrative strategy in managing complex neurological conditions.

 Abstract

Timira is an important Drishtigata Roga described in Ayurvedic classics and is characterized by progressive impairment of visual perception. Acharya Sushruta has described various Doshaja varieties of Timira with distinct clinical manifestations and therapeutic approaches. Nasya Karma, being an important treatment modality for Urdhvajatrugata Rogas, has been advocated for disorders affecting the visual apparatus. The classical principle of "Nasa Hi Shiraso Dwaram" provides the conceptual basis for the therapeutic application of Nasya in ocular diseases.

 Abstract

Pluchea lanceolata (DC.) C.B.Clarke, commonly known as Rasana, is a medicinal plant of the family Asteraceae that has a long history of use in Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine. The plant is particularly associated with the management of inflammatory and painful joint disorders. Published investigations have reported anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, analgesic, antipyretic, antioxidant, antimalarial and immunomodulatory or immunosuppressive activities. Phytochemical investigations have identified triterpenoids, sterols, flavonoids, lactones and other constituents, including ?-amyrin, stigmasterol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, neolupenol-related compounds and taraxasterol acetate. Modern analytical studies have further detected diverse terpenoid, phytosterol and lipid-related constituents in leaf extracts. Experimental evidence therefore supports the pharmacological interest of P. lanceolata, particularly for inflammation and oxidative-stress-related research. However, much of the evidence remains preclinical, and plant-specific markers, dose standardization, mechanism-based studies and clinical validation remain important research needs. This review summarizes the botanical profile, traditional uses, phytoconstituents and reported pharmacological activities of P. lanceolata.
