 Abstract

Music is the heart and soul of tribal way of life. It has its natural exuberance in the fields, jungles with the waves and ripples of the social and individual heart bubbling and floating in the winding hilly ways down to the village huts. This prompted in the contrivance of sound generating devices that move and throw along the moods and feelings to whisper from heart to heart and community to community, the voice, the message and the feelings of joy and woe, through the traditional tribal musical instruments. The sorrows and sufferings neither find expression in the tearing eyes and the palpitating hearts, but in the melancholy tunings of the flute. The aim of tribal life is to find joy in deeds and actions that stimulate the individual to mingle in festivities. Each tribal community of Odisha has devised ways and means to commemorate a function. It may surround the forest, the village or the field to perform with all intimacy and with all free expressions as a slipway of the bandaged and regulated social life.

 Abstract

The majority of disease diagnosis nowadays is laboratory-based. Molecular diagnosis is now the primary diagnostic modality for the majority of rare, complex, and unique disease presentations due to recent advancements in medical science and molecular biology. The most generally recognised and often used diagnostic modality with very high specificity and sensitivity for accurate diagnosis is PCR, one of many molecular methods that are currently being utilised extensively throughout the world. A single or a few copies of a DNA fragment can be amplified across several orders of magnitude using the PCR technique in molecular biology, producing thousands to millions of copies of a specific DNA sequence. Today, PCR is a widely used and frequently essential technology in biological and medical research labs for a wide range of uses. The PCR technique consists of three main steps: denaturation, annealing, and extension. A rising range of disorders can be investigated and diagnosed with the use of PCR. PCR finds applications in bioscience, diagnostics, forensic labs, and numerous other domains. In this paper we discussed about the basics of PCR in relation to its working principle, types, methods, application and advantages in diagnosis.

 Abstract

This paper seeks to examine the disillusionment of the American Dream by analyzing Toni Morrison's portrayal of the African American family and community in Song of Solomon, Home, and The Bluest Eye. Employing Patricia Hill Collins' Black Feminist Thought, particularly the notion of intersectionality, this study aims to explore how Morrison's impactful narratives dissect the complex interplay of race, class, and gender that shapes African American identity and the dynamics within these communities. Utilizing Collins' framework, we will investigate how Morrison, using characters such as Pecola Breedlove in The Bluest Eye, challenges societal beauty standards and sheds light on the systemic oppression experienced by African American women. Pecola Breedlove's tragic desire for blue eyes in The Bluest Eye illustrates concepts like the Matrix of Domination, emphasizing the harmful effects of white beauty standards on Black self-esteem. The significance of The Other Mother and alternative support systems is examined in Home through Cee's network of resilient women who provide comfort and a sense of belonging. Additionally, Morrison challenges the Controlling Image of masculinity in Song of Solomon as Milkman Dead grapples with societal expectations and seeks his own definition of manhood. Collins' concept of Black women's self-definition beyond survival is exemplified in characters like Ruth from Song of Solomon, who charts her own course as a healer and leader. By framing the characters' struggles and triumphs within this Black Feminist framework, this study highlights the enduring relevance of Morrison's work, providing a deeper understanding of the evolution of African American families and communities, while also acknowledging the lasting impact of Black Feminist Thought on both literary and social discourse.

Abstract This paper aims to study and discuss the disillusionment of the American Dream by applying Michel Foucault's theories to Giannina Braschi's thought-provoking and groundbreaking novels, "United States of Banana" and "Yo-Yo Boing!". These novels present an incredibly insightful and relentless examination of the revered American Dream. In an awe-inspiring display of intellectual prowess, this essay seeks to delve into how Braschi masterfully showcases the disillusionment plaguing this societal construct by deftly applying the theories of the renowned philosopher Michel Foucault. Namely power, discourse, and biopolitics. Through an ingenious combination of fragmented narratives, a rich tapestry of cultural blending through the utilization of Spanglish, and a razor-sharp satirical edge, Braschi fearlessly strips away the layers to expose the intricate constraints that entangle the American Dream, shedding light on the omnipotent power dynamics that perpetuate its resounding disappointment. Foucault's extraordinary framework emphasized not only how societal expectations and governmental authority intertwine, but also how prevailing narratives contribute significantly to the overwhelming sense of isolation and ostracism experienced by Braschi's captivating characters. This comprehensive analysis serves as a beacon, skillfully illuminating the shared critique that resounds within these novels while remaining acutely aware of their distinctive and diverse stylistic approaches. Ultimately, Braschi's literary prowess challenges and implores us, as readers, to exercise discernment and engage in a piercing and critical evaluation of the nuanced complexities and constraints that shackle the American Dream, especially in relation to marginalized communities. Only by engaging in this introspective dialogue can we hope to forge a path towards a more inclusive and egalitarian society.

 Abstract

Advertising is one of the most prominent tools of marketing that can be used to tell the story about a brand. It is often responsible for selling a product or service directly or it may focus on creating brand awareness and more. In the age of social media, interactive and immersive media, brands have a better opportunity to tell stories, engage with their consumers without facing the limitations of conventional media outlets like radio, television and print. There are multiple appeals that are utilized by brands to create a beautiful storyline. The research paper is a case study of the audiovisual advertisements of Titan Watches in India. In 1984 Tata Industries engaged with TIDCO in a venture to form Titan Watches Ltd. Ever since then Titan has become a household name in India selling watches to millions with a 65% market share in the Indian organized watch market. The paper analyses landmark audio-visual advertisements of Titan Watches over the years that have been shared on social media platform like YouTube. The advertisements have been analyzed to study the messaging, storytelling, audience engagement and understanding the trend in the brand's advertising message.

 Abstract

Background: Orthostatic hypotension and compromised pulmonary function are common concerns in patients undergoing hemodialysis, potentially impacting their overall health and quality of life. Understanding the prevalence of these conditions in this population is crucial for improving patient management and outcomes. The aim of the study was to evaluate the prevalence of orthostatic hypotension and assess pulmonary function in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Materials and Methodology: This observational study was conducted with 30 patients in the age group 50-65 years with a mean dialysis period of 12 months, receiving hemodialysis at YCRH Dialysis unit and Deshpande hospital dialysis unit , Latur. Orthostatic hypotension was assessed using blood pressure measurements taken in supine and standing positions. Pulmonary function was evaluated through spirometry, measuring parameters such as forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR). Data were analyzed to determine the prevalence of orthostatic hypotension and the degree of pulmonary impairment. Results: Among the 30 patients studied, 20% exhibited orthostatic hypotension, characterized by a significant drop in blood pressure upon standing. Pulmonary function tests revealed that the prevalence rate of FVC was 80% ,FEV1 was 96.66% and PEFR was 100% , indicating varying degrees of pulmonary dysfunction. Conclusion: The prevalence of orthostatic hypotension and pulmonary dysfunction is notable among patients on hemodialysis. These findings highlight the need for routine screening and integrated management strategies to address these conditions, aiming to improve patient care and outcomes.

 Abstract

The Tamil feature film VISHWA THULASI by Dir. SUMATHY RAM was released in 2004 and featured Mammootty and Nandita Das, who are both well-known Indian actors. The film has become a vital part of this author's life since then, as she has watched it more than thirty times. The film's brilliant depiction of the cultural ethos and traditions of Tamil society made it a must-watch. The capture of human emotions was remarkable, with all the subtleties and nuances in every other scene. The work of art was well-crafted with a plethora of beautiful moments and aesthetic innuendos that made it a worthwhile and pleasurable watch. In the Tamil movie industry, there are many movies released every Friday, but only a few can touch the soul. Satyajit Ray's films have been a constant source of inspiration for this author. After watching Vishwa Thulasi for the first time, she came to the realization that Dir. Sumathy Ram had achieved similar excellence on the silver screen. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the cinematic grace that encapsulates the nuances of iconic scenes that incorporate cultural elements and to examine the narrative layers of emotional power that are presented in Vishwa Thulasi, which has Dir. Sumathy Ram as its writer and director.

 Abstract

Eleusine coracana, commonly known as finger millet or ragi belongs to the minor cereals of the grass family (Poaceae) are characterized by their ability to survive in less fertile soil, resistance to pest, drought resistant, short growing season. Finger millet has an outstanding properties as a subsistence food crop. It is rich in calcium, dietary fibers, phytates, proteins, minerals, amino acids and have higher proportion of glutamic acid, proline, isoleucine and leucine. Its fat consist of oleic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid. The abundance of these phytochemicals enhances the nutraceutical properties of finger millet and other health beneficial nutrients such as antidiabetic (type 2 diabetes), antioxidant, antimicrobial, prevents osteoporosis and atherosclerosis effects. This review highlights the need for increased consumption of finger millet in global diets, particularly in developing regions, to leverage its health benefits and improve nutritional security.
