 Abstract

Pre-diabetes is a critical metabolic stage with high risk of progression to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus if not addressed timely. Ayurveda conceptualizes this condition under Kaphaja Prameha, a disorder predominantly arising from improper diet, sedentary lifestyle, and Kapha-Meda vitiation. This case report presents the successful management of a pre-diabetic patient using Ayurvedic lifestyle modification (Nidana Parivarjana, Pathya-Apathya) along with structured Yogic practices. Significant improvement was observed in subjective symptoms, metabolic stability, and overall well-being, highlighting the preventive and promotive role of Ayurveda and Yoga in lifestyle disorders.

 Abstract

This paper examines Shyamlal Debbarma's 'Khong' (1996) as a literary representation of education, scientific consciousness, superstition, and social transformation in Tiprasa society. 'Hachuk Kwpara' is portrayed as an old and large village where people have lived for generations, preserving their social and ethnic traditions. However, the village is also marked by illiteracy, superstition, irrational beliefs, and social conflicts. At one point, the villagers, influenced by an Ojha (Ritual Practitioner), believe that an evil deity is responsible for the suffering and deaths in the village. As a result, they are compelled to leave 'Hachuk Kwpara' and move to 'Gairing Kwpara'. Against this social background, Bichang emerges as a symbol of education, scientific consciousness, rationality, and social change. Although he grows up in the same social environment, education enables him to acquire knowledge and examine traditional beliefs through reason and practical understanding. As a B.A. graduate in Economics, Bichang is presented as one of the most educated persons in the two villages and among the educated sections of the Tiprasa community. He seeks to challenge superstition, irrational conflicts associated with religious beliefs, and harmful social practices. The character of Naithokti, Bichang's beloved, further reveals the cruelty of superstition. Because of her poverty, she is labelled a Daini (witch), exposing the social exclusion and inhuman treatment caused by such beliefs. Thus, 'Khong' presents education, scientific thought, rationality, and human values as essential forces for social reform. Through Bichang's character, Debbarma suggests that the development of education and rational consciousness can help eradicate harmful superstitions and contribute to the intellectual and social development of the Tiprasa community.

 Abstract

### Abstract This paper presents the design and development of a pneumatic PDMS micropump with in-plane check valves for disposable microfluidic systems. Microfluidic devices require small, reliable, and controllable fluid pumps for applications such as biomedical testing, chemical analysis, drug delivery, and point-of-care diagnostics. The proposed micropump uses polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as the primary fabrication material because of its flexibility, biocompatibility, transparency, and suitability for low-cost disposable devices. Pneumatic actuation is used to generate the pumping action by periodically deforming the flexible PDMS membrane. In-plane check valves are integrated into the microfluidic structure to control the direction of fluid flow and reduce backflow during operation. The micropump is designed to provide stable and controlled fluid transport while maintaining a compact structure. The proposed design can be fabricated using relatively simple and cost-effective microfabrication techniques, making it suitable for single-use microfluidic applications. The performance of the micropump can be evaluated based on parameters such as flow rate, pumping pressure, actuation frequency, and valve response. The proposed system offers a promising solution for integrating pumping and flow-control functions into disposable microfluidic platforms, with potential applications in lab-on-chip systems, diagnostic devices, and portable biomedical instruments.

 Abstract

In this study, we have determined pressure - volume relationship, bulk modulus and its pressure derivatives for binary solids viz., NaCl, NaF and MgO under high pressure and high temperature conditions. We have used the Holzapfel AP2 equation of state (EOS) which has a fundamental physical origin based on the Thomas - Fermi electron gas model in the limit of extreme compression. To analyze the behavior at extreme compression, Stacey's infinite pressure relation lim_(P->?) (P/K_T )=1/(K_T^? ) is utilized. This constraint models how the pressure to bulk modulus ratio approaches a finite limit 1/(K_T^? ) under extreme compression. The computed plots of P/K_T versus 1/(K_T^' ) across different isotherms at selected temperatures shows strong alignment with Stacey's relation confirms the physical validity and stability of the Holzapfel AP2 EOS for binary solids under high pressures and high temperature conditions.

 Abstract

This paper presents the design, development, and analysis of a small wireless remote-controlled robot using a 27 MHz RF communication system. The robot is powered by a 3.7 V, 2000 mAh lithium-ion battery and utilizes four geared DC motors (300 RPM, 500 mA each) for locomotion. The system is designed to carry a weight of approximately 500 grams. The robot is developed to make quality education available for underprivileged children at village vernacular medium schools. The wheeled bot is made using waste materials considerably reducing the cost which is easily affordable by the schools. Key aspects such as motor torque, battery discharge rate, RF communication range, and mechanical feasibility are analyzed. The results demonstrate that the selected components provide sufficient torque, acceptable battery life, and reliable short-range wireless control, making the system suitable for educational and hobby applications.
